Easter in the City

Friends,
Happy belated Easter to everyone. Hopefully it was an enjoyable time for all of you. I spent the holiday weekend with friends in NYC, staying with my college buddy, Danny, whose birthday was on Thursday night. The long weekend kicked off with his birthday celebration, and continued through Easter Sunday, where we went to services at Trinity Church, a block from ground zero in lower Manhattan. It was an awesome weekend and it felt good to get off the road and out of hotels for a few days.
Today, my travels brought me to south central New York. Specifically, I was in the Finger Lakes region, surrounded by vineyards and unique deep water lakes that resemble fingers because they run long and narrow. Seneca Lake was the backdrop for most of the day, and I was told that it is over 600 feet deep and because of this unusual depth, the US Navy does submarine training here! Pretty crazy... The vineyards were nice and the locals tell me that New York wine is quite sweet, far better than you might think.
I'll be in western New York and central Pennsylvania for the next few days. Hopefully soon the weather will warm up here! Scraping ice off windshields in the mornings takes me back to the Dayton, OH days!
Hope you're all well and thanks for reading!
On the road,
Matt
